After-School All-Stars (ASAS) Las Vegas is gearing up for their 2nd Annual Lip Sync Showdown, set to take place at XS Nightclub in Encore Las Vegas on Monday, October 7th at 7 p.m. This exciting event is a collaboration between ASAS, Wynn Resorts, and mobile game developer PLAYSTUDIOS, all coming together for a great cause.
Lip Sync Showdown is not just another typical fundraising event – it’s a playful competition where 12 teams from various organizations will battle it out in an epic lip-sync battle to be crowned the “Las Vegas All-Star.” This unique event allows attendees to enjoy stellar performances while supporting a cause that directly impacts the lives of local youth.
Jodi Manzella, the executive director of After-School All-Stars, expressed her excitement for the Lip Sync Showdown, stating, “Paying lip service to a good cause has never been this fun. This event helps us raise funds to support our mission of providing free, enriching, high-quality after-school programs to keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life.”
Since 1995, ASAS has been dedicated to offering comprehensive after-school programs that focus on academic support, enrichment, and life skills development for youth in Las Vegas. Their programs cover a range of activities including STEM, music, arts, and sports, providing students with opportunities for growth and development outside of the traditional school setting.
Jenna Morton, a board member of ASAS, emphasized the importance of creating enriching after-school experiences for children, stating, “Our programs are designed to give kids access to opportunities they might not find in traditional settings.” ASAS currently serves over 4,000 students across 22 Title I schools in the Las Vegas Valley, with a focus on supporting at-risk elementary and middle school students.
All funds raised from the Lip Sync Showdown event will go towards continuing ASAS’s mission of providing free programs to underprivileged youth in Las Vegas.
