The Meadows High School Tennis Teams are gearing up for another shot at the state meet after a disappointing end to last season. Both the boys and girls teams will be competing in the Class 4A state tennis playoffs at Bishop Manogue this week.
Boys Tennis:
The Meadows boys, who lost in a tough match to Galena last year, are entering this year’s competition as the top seed from the Southern Region. They will face off against Reno in the opening match on Thursday. The team will be led by Steven Tian in the singles tournament and Henry Ahmed and Jacob Garber in the doubles quarterfinals.
Girls Tennis:
The Meadows girls team, last year’s state runner-up, will be facing Bishop Manogue in the semifinals. The team will be represented by Sophia Yang in the singles quarterfinals and Miranda Paek and Shelby Feikes in the doubles tournament.
Class 3A:
In the Class 3A state tennis playoffs, teams like Boulder City and Adelson will be competing for the championship title. Players like Ido Goren from Adelson and Carson Alder and Chandler Shamo from Boulder City will be looking to make their mark in the competition.
Cross Country:
On the cross country front, regional races will be taking place at Veterans Memorial Park. Athletes like Kennan Dagge, Ryen Hughes, Larissa Spinella, and Mackenzie Teel will be looking to showcase their skills and lead their teams to victory in the upcoming races.
It’s an exciting time for high school sports as these talented athletes prepare to compete at the state level. Stay tuned for more updates on their performance and results.
