The transition of power from Mayor Carolyn Goodman to Berkley is set to take place at the upcoming City Council meeting, marking the end of a quarter-century rule by the Goodman family. Berkley defeated Councilwoman Victoria Seaman in November’s runoff election, and she is looking forward to collaborating with the seven-member council, including Seaman.
Ward 5 Councilwoman-elect Shondra Summers-Armstrong will also be taking an oath of office alongside Berkley, further solidifying the new leadership team that will guide the city of Las Vegas into the future.

She emphasized the importance of resolving the Badlands cases quickly to avoid potential losses for the city, which could amount to $650 million if lawsuits filed by EHB Cos. are not settled.
