This weekend is going to be an exciting one for high school football fans, with several regional championship games taking place as teams fight for a spot in the state title game.

In the 5A Division II Southern League final, top-seeded Faith Lutheran will take on third-seeded Shadow Ridge. Faith Lutheran, with a perfect 10-0 record, will rely on their balanced rushing and passing attack led by quarterback Alex Rogers and running back Cale Breslin. Shadow Ridge, on the other hand, will look to their strong ground game led by running back Tyrell Craven to secure a win in this highly anticipated matchup.

Over in the 5A Division III Southern League final, top-seeded Centennial will face off against third-seeded Desert Oasis. Centennial, after a rough start, has won five of their last six games and will look to quarterback Ashton Hunt to lead their pass-heavy offense. Desert Oasis, known for their stingy defense, will rely on quarterback Vincent Hales to try and outlast Centennial in what promises to be a close game.

In the 4A Desert League final, Mojave will host Losee for the championship. Mojave, with a record of 10-1, has a dominant defense that has recorded six shutouts this season. Running back Antwan Hawkins will lead their offense, while Losee, with a record of 10-2, will look to their top running back Kieran Daniel to pull off a win in what could be a closely contested game.

In the 4A Mountain League final, Canyon Springs will take on Eldorado for the title. Canyon Springs, after a rocky start, has shown impressive form in recent games and will rely on quarterback Tysean McCraney and running back Bakari Wilson to lead their offense. Eldorado, in the midst of a breakthrough season, will look to running back Tristan Savea to generate success against Canyon Springs.

In the Class 3A state semifinals, SLAM Academy and Virgin Valley will compete for a spot in the state playoffs. SLAM Academy, led by quarterback Alaijah Young and running back Damien Nevil, will face off against Churchill County, while Virgin Valley will take on Truckee in what promises to be a thrilling matchup.
