Period Action Day: Project Marilyn Hosts Period Packing Party at Lexicon Bank

Project Marilyn, a nonprofit organization based in Nevada, is gearing up to celebrate Period Action Day on October 12th with a Period Packing Party at Lexicon Bank. This event, supported by both Lexicon Bank and Aunt Flow, aims to tackle the issue of period poverty in the local community.

The Period Packing Party is scheduled to take place from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Lexicon Bank’s facility located at 330 South Rampart Blvd, Suite 150, Las Vegas, NV 89145. The event will bring together staff members from Lexicon Bank and members of the community to assemble period supply kits for distribution to those in need.

In addition to packing period kits, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about period poverty and how they can contribute to addressing this critical issue. Lexicon Bank is generously providing the venue and products for the event, while Aunt Flow, a leader in menstrual product innovation, will be supplying high-quality products for the period kits.

Wendi Schweigart, the Founder of Project Marilyn, expressed her excitement about the partnership with Lexicon Bank and Aunt Flow for this important cause. She emphasized that Period Action Day is a chance to unite the community in the fight against period poverty and expressed gratitude for the support of their partners in making the event possible.

Stacy Watkins, President and CEO of Lexicon Bank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community and shared that hosting the Period Packing Party aligns with their values of social responsibility. Watkins stated that the event allows them to make a meaningful impact by addressing real needs in the community.

Aunt Flow, known for its dedication to sustainability and accessibility in menstrual care, is proud to be a part of the event. Jenni Genson, Director of Customer Success at Aunt Flow, emphasized the company’s commitment to menstrual equity and access, stating that together with Project Marilyn, they can change the world one cycle at a time.

Project Marilyn, named after Wendi’s mom Marilyn, is focused on advancing menstrual equity and improving access to period products for those in need. Through donations, advocacy, and partnerships, the nonprofit works to eliminate period poverty and ensure that menstruation does not hinder individuals from fully participating in education and daily life.

Lexicon Bank, founded in 2019, is a community-focused banking partner in Nevada that provides comprehensive banking services to businesses and individuals. The bank’s emphasis on creating and nurturing long-term relationships helps to foster Southern Nevada’s economy and community, ultimately supporting the growth of local businesses in the region.

Aunt Flow, the first full solution to help businesses and organizations provide free and accessible tampons and pads in their bathrooms, is dedicated to making the world better for people with periods. The company’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, advocacy, and accessibility has led to the donation of over six million period products to nonprofits supporting individuals in need.

As the Period Packing Party approaches, the collaboration between Project Marilyn, Lexicon Bank, and Aunt Flow serves as a testament to the power of community partnerships in addressing important social issues like period poverty. By coming together to pack period supply kits and educate the community, these organizations are working towards creating a more equitable and inclusive society for all individuals.
