Greg Gilbert, a former contractor and self-proclaimed “Metal Man,” marked five years of sobriety by making a life-changing decision. He left his job and opened the Welding School of Nevada in Henderson. Despite facing a $100,000 debt and moments of doubt, Gilbert’s faith and perseverance paid off as the school began to thrive.
The Welding School offers a ten-week program that equips students with structural welding certifications, OSHA workplace safety training, and forklift operation skills. With small class sizes and flexible scheduling, the school ensures personalized attention and quality education. Notably, a significant portion of the students come from Casa Grande, a transitional housing center for non-violent offenders, where they receive free funding to attend classes.
